AdBlue In Diesel

Well, what exactly is the trouble with having AdBlue in a diesel tank? Seeing that AdBlue is mostly deionised water, it is actually like putting water in to your tank. Diesel and water really do not mix in any way and attempting to run a diesel car on water is not going to work. In addition to this, the urea is highly corrosive to the fuel system pipes and seals and is susceptible to crystalising, clogging injectors and filters.

In case you have put AdBlue in your fuel tank empty it immediately. And definitely take care not to switch on the engine - not even to shift it off the pump. In the instance that you have started the car you will probably need to have the complete fuel system cleaned and filters changed out.

Water contaminated fuel
